I played this at 1983 with my youth orchestra. James Curnow influenced my composings in this years. I love this kind of music!
Playing this rn in my college's concert band on horn and sister moon and stars is so much fun.
Anyone else's favorite Brother Sun (II)?
TIME STAMPS 0:00 I Prologue 1:56 II Brother Sun 3:57 III Sister Moon and Stars 7:39 IV Brother Fire 8:53 V Mother Earth 13:12 VI Epilogue
I play mallets for this piece and those ten-tuplets at the end of Brother Sun are KILLER. Just gotta practice 😂
(Let's start a meaningless fight cuz why not) trumpets are the best instrument out there. (playing part 2 on this is so much fun)
HS Band, 1988. We won an award for it.
I played this my freshman year in HS 1990.
I played this more recently in my high school band in Wales UK. Such a fantastic suite of music, a pleasure to play and a treat for the ears!
Anyone from Winding Waters?
omgsh i played this with my middle school band in '06-'07 for UIL !
톰과 제리 브금으로 쓰면 대환장...
I was a flutist playing this piece in my senior year in High School. Unfortunately we had to split it between two concerts. Mother Earth is still my very favorite section from this entire suite.
Anyone from UNI?
BARITONES UNITE
Playing on 2X speed is suicide
God if you are a trumpet 2 player an played at at 2 times speed all praise you damn it legit is suicide for your mouth and lungs
If you're second clarinet, you'll find a part that has the Tetris theme before the trio. Anyways hello to anyone from my school he sees me here lol
Well im ze 1st chair out of ze 2 chairs

Playlistmakerz we don’t have chairs tho
Orthoxia prob the most relatable shit I’ve seen in 2020
What other songs has this man written?
2019 da best
best song i ever played in milton high school
Sounds a lot like Circus Days. With the style and form of the piece. Karl l King is distributing his talents all across his pieces
It’s upsetting to me how not many people nowadays really enjoy this piece because it’s amazing
brother fire is baritone abuse
I’m in a 5 A band and I have to play tomorrow wish me luck
why does this sound like a Fight Song ?
Most fight songs are old marches like this and then arranged for marching bands
Does Karl L King have a fetish for super fast songs that ruin French Horn’s dreams?
Play this at x2 speed
Super slow.......
This piece was commissioned by our high school, North Hills, in Pittsburgh. We played it before 1984.
I played this piece in 1984. It was commissioned by my high school, North Hills.
Joe Heid I played it recently...and was supposed to perform it last month but never got to :(( thanks corona😞
@@paytonk01 Very sorry to hear. I thought about members of high school bands not playing their final concerts. My only hope for you is you're not a senior and may get another chance.
Joe Heid I’m sad I may not even get a final concert :(( wasn’t even ready to say goodbye to my time in band yet😞 true life I’m never gonna be ready to part with the experience. Band was such a fun and rewarding thing to be a part of
@@paytonk01After 20 years of not playing and moving to a new city, I found a community band. After a few nudges, I joined and started playing again. Is there a local band near you? Look it up. While it won't be the same, it will allow you to continue playing.
Joe Heid I’m gonna look into options in college next year but thank you very much for the suggestions!!
I remember playing this in 8th-grade district band as 3rd chair euphonium... now I'm an 11th grader and I've gotten 1st chair in international honor band two years in a row. It's always fun to look back on old honor band songs, just because we spent so little time on them that for once they aren't completely drilled into our heads by the time we're done with the last performance!
Played this during my summer music camp and it was so great. I miss it so much
I love this piece.
Yeah I have an honor band concert tomorrow and We play this song but I don’t have it down yet
First I played this in middle school... and now it's my High School Honors song... why?
Were playing it in my band class and this is a pretty easy song to be honest once you get the rhythms down that is. We're also playing yorkshire ballad and abracadabra.
totally agree. It's just rehearsing the rhythms and working your way faster and faster!
This march is not even hard why everybody complaining and this is an easy typo for this march.. I march in military style band and we play marches harder than this every year like come on😂😂
Jennifer O'Brian It depends, it's a march or a gallop, a gallop is a lot faster than a march, and that's what the band on this video is playing it as.
Richard Clark Ik and our band calls marches(galop) like this a circus march bc they play these in circus bands and it's supposed to be a bit harder like this year we played a circus march called "Battle of the Winds" in our drill (which is a screamer)
Which HS?
Awesome Song!!!!!!!!
Play it at 2x speed.
Reminds me of Gallop from First Suite for Band
Let me just sum up the comments: "My school is playing this and I play X and it's so hard/fast/fun"
We played this as a band and played it faster in middle school
i wanna shove a flute up my ass hole
I WANT TO DIE Lmfao
Playing this for high school band. Conductor shits himself every time we play a note. The 7 bars are insane. 16
omg my school band are going to play this at a concert and there is no way we're going that fast 😓😀
MILLS THE GREAT mine too..
Anyone got the website for sheet music?
Playing Trombone on this was a blast. Fun playing this fast.
Yesss its so much fun. I especially love our part at 22 its really enjoyable
My band tecaher is letting me and 3 others pick out next piece to congratulate ud for going to allatate. We all unanimously want this.
I play snare for this and I am so worried about the 7/8 part!
Joseph Sanchez there is no snare part for this piece????
Played this in 10th grade. First clarinet
I Have fallen in love with everything from Karl L King
